add that extra level of neatness to your
knitting. This is one of those skills
that you will use time and time again.

Welcome to Intarsia
with Pat Nerbun
NEW!
Friday: 1/15 –
1:00-3:00
Fee: $25
“Intarsia” may sound like a mysterious,
faraway land in a storybook. But really
it’s a useful knitting skill in which
you carry different colors of yarn in a
certain section of knitting (as opposed
to carrying the color across an entire
row as with Fair Isle). Intarsia is
often thought of as the skill for
“picture knitting,” like if you want to
knit a picture of a puppy on the front
of a child’s sweater. In this class, Pat
will introduce you to intarsia and fill
you with helpful hints for intarsia
success. In other words, “Intarsia”
won’t seem so mysterious and faraway
after all. (Skill Level: Advanced
Beginner and Up. 1 session. Maximum 8
students.)

Felted Embellishments
Saturday, January 16, 3:00-4:00
Prolific knitter and longtime AGY
customer Renee Main is a creative
wonder. Renee knits a lot of felted
bags, and every time she comes into the
store, she has some new bag with the
most amazing felted embellishments. She
never fails to knock our socks off,
often combining applied felted items
like flowers with needle-felted accents.
We asked Renee if she would share some
of her incredible ideas, and to our
great delight, she agreed. So we hope
you can join us as Renee demonstrates
some of her one-of-a-kind creations that
can add flair and individuality to any
project. Be sure to stop by the store to
see samples of Renee’s work.
Gaia Shawl
Saturday, March 20, 3:00-4:00
The second free demo of the season is
another one inspired by a customer. When
Janine Carlson, who regularly
participates in Good Morning Knitting on
Tuesdays, came in with her Gaia Shawl
knit out of a skein of Noro Silk Garden
Sock, we fell in love with the pattern.
The triangular shawl is deceptively
simple to make, with some strategically
placed yarnovers to help create the
shape. Plus, the shawl can be knit out
of a wide variety of yarns with very
different results. We hope you can stop
in and learn a few tips for making your
own amazing Gaia Shawl.
