2008 summer classes at a grand yarn
Registration:
Class registration begins immediately on a first-come, first-served basis. Pre-payment is required withregistration to secure your spot in the class. You can register in person or over the phone. Supplies are not included in
the class fee.
Cancellations:
You may cancel up to one week before the first class for a full refund. If you cancel later than that, wewill issue a refund if we are able to fill your space. You can transfer class fees to apply to another class within the same
semester, as long as you still let us know at least a week prior to the original class you registered for. If a class does not
fill with the minimum number of students, we will cancel the class and issue a full refund.
Student Discounts:
Students receive a non-transferable, one-time 10% storewide discount card at the time ofregistration. The discount is valid through the last day of class. The AGY Club discount can be applied on top of the
class discount. You will need to present your discount card at the time of purchase.
Private Lessons:
If you can’t make one of the class times, there is a specific skill or project you want to learn, or youwork better one-on-one, consider making an appointment for a private lesson. Our teachers are available for lessons on
any skill or project you have in mind. Fee: $20 per hour for one person, $30 for two.
one step – two step
These class pairings take you from learning a skill to applying it to a fabulous project. The Step 1 class will
prepare you to take Step 2. If you would rather take just one of the pair, that’s great as well. (But please note
that Step 2 classes require the skills taught in Step 1 classes.) Plus, your leftover supplies from Step 1 can be
used for Step 2.
One Step – Two Step Fair Isle
Step 1: Gerda’s Fair Isle Pouch
Learn the easier-than-it-looks technique of Fair Isle, including how to hold the yarn and how to read a chart.

Step 2: Mary Perry’s Jogless Hat
Learn the incredible technique that eliminates the pesky jog that shows up at the beginning of Fair Isle rounds.

One Step – Two Step Crochet
Step 1: Leslie’s Learn to Crochet
Join Leslie and pick up a hook to learn the basics of crocheting.
Thursday: 7/17 – 11:30-12:30 Fee: $25
Step 2: Leslie’s Simple But Elegant Crochet Scarf
With just basic crochet skills you can make this enchanting scalloped scarf.

one-hour wonders
These one-hour classes are geared toward teaching you a useful skill quickly during the busy summer. And
although the projects themselves will take a bit more than an hour to complete, they are small, portable, and
quick, making them ideal for getting a jump-start on your holiday gift knitting.
Lacey Lines Silk Scarf
with Sheila PorterLearn how to knit a simple diagonal lace pattern (no charts!). The year-round project works with all sorts of
yarn but is especially stunning in silk.
